Anthropic reportedly se to file publicly for IPO today as record debut nears

Anthropic plans to file publicly for an initial public offering today at around 9am in New York (2pm UK), according to Bloomberg, which cited people familiar with the matter.

A public filing would reveal the artificial intelligence company's financial details for the first time.

Bloomberg News has reported that the maker of the Claude AI models could begin formally marketing the deal as soon as the week of 9 November.

The company expects the offering to match or beat the size of SpaceX's IPO, Bloomberg said, citing people familiar with the matter.

Fox Business first reported the filing timing, and Anthropic did not immediately respond to Bloomberg's requests for comment.

Anthropic filed confidentially with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on 1 June, after raising $65bn in May at a $965bn valuation.

Prediction market Polymarket puts the chance of a first-day close above a $2 trillion market value at about 42%.

The listing is one of the few prospective deals powering ahead, Bloomberg said, as others are delayed or pulled.

Data centre operator AirTrunk has pushed back a Singapore real estate investment trust IPO until next year.

That came days after a planned IPO for Australian data centre company Firmus collapsed.

Bloomberg also said Anthropic and rival OpenAI face growing public scrutiny over AI safety after a string of high-profile hacking incidents involving rogue agents.

That scrutiny has raised concern about the potential effect on Anthropic's market debut.
