BioHarvest Sciences produces active plant ingredients without growing the plant itself

BioHarvest is a leader in Botanical Synthesis, leveraging its patented technology platform to grow plant-based compounds, without the need to grow the underlying plant.

The company is leveraging its botanical synthesis technology to develop the next generation of science-based and clinically proven therapeutic solutions within two major business verticals; as a contract development and production organization (CDMO) on behalf of customers seeking novel plant-based compounds, and as a creator of proprietary nutraceutical health and wellness products, which includes dietary supplements.

BioHarvest Sciences Inc (NASDAQ:BHST, FRA:8MV0) plans to pursue a dual listing of its ordinary shares on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE), with trading expected to begin on September 8, 2026.

The company, which is listed on the Nasdaq Capital Market, expects the TASE listing to provide investors in Israel with access to its shares. The Israeli-founded company develops plant-based molecules using its Botanical Synthesis technology.

Under its filed registration documents, BioHarvest has requested the registration of 22.67 million outstanding common shares, along with up to 4.52 million shares that could be issued under its equity incentive plan and 610,742 shares issuable upon the exercise of investor warrants.

The equity incentive shares include 2.56 million outstanding options and 269,521 restricted stock units, with another 1.68 million shares available for future grants, subject to applicable vesting and exercise requirements.

BioHarvest Sciences Inc (NASDAQ:BHST, FRA:8MV0) reported higher second-quarter revenue as the plant-based molecule developer shifted spending toward manufacturing capacity.

Revenue for the quarter was $8.8 million, up 3.8% from a year earlier. Net loss narrowed to $3.7 million, or $0.17 per share, from $4.1 million, or $0.24 per share, a year earlier. Gross profit was $5.1 million, or 58% of revenue, compared with 59% of revenue in the same period last year.

BioHarvest Sciences Inc (NASDAQ:BHST, FRA:8MV0) said on Wednesday it has received a 4.33 million NIS (about $1.4 million) grant from the Israel Innovation Authority to fund a new research initiative applying machine learning and computer vision to its plant cell culture programs.

The update sent the company's shares 7% higher in early trade.

BioHarvest Sciences CEO Ilan Sobel joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share that the company has announced a strategic collaboration with Tate & Lyle PLC (LSE:TATE), a global leader in ingredient solutions for healthier food and beverages. This partnership aims to create next-generation, plant-based molecules that address the growing consumer demand for affordable, nutritious, and sustainable food and beverage ingredients.

The collaboration will focus on developing botanical sweetening ingredients using plant-derived molecules through BioHarvest’s proprietary platform. These innovative sweeteners will deliver a sugar-like taste without any aftertaste, providing consumers with healthier ingredient options. The solutions promise to be more cost-effective for the food and beverage industry while significantly reducing the land and water use typically required for traditional extraction methods.
