InnovaDerma names former Be Heard boss, Simon Pyper as a non-executive director of the company

Pyper was formerly chief executive officer and chief financial officer of digital marketing group Be Heard

InnovaDerma PLC (LON:IDP) has announced that subject to shareholder approval, Simon Pyper will become a non-executive director of the company at the conclusion of its general meeting to be held on December 16, 2020, at 10.00am.

The developer of beauty, personal care and life science products, said that Rodney Turner who has been a non-executive director of the group since September 2014 has chosen not to stand for re-election and will be stepping down from the board from the beginning of the general meeting.

The company pointed out that Pyper has strong experience as an executive director of public companies and brings with him digital and marketing expertise, being formerly chief executive officer and chief financial officer of digital marketing group Be Heard Group PLC.

Prior to Be Heard, he was chief financial officer of AIM-listed GlobalData PLC from 2007 to 2017. During his tenure, Simon oversaw GlobalData's reverse takeover of TMN PLC and admission to AIM and facilitated its acquisition led growth strategy.

Pyper is currently the chief financial officer of Xenia Broking, one of the largest credit insurance brokers in the UK, it added.

In a statement, Joe Bayer, Innovaderma's executive chairman commented: "We are very pleased to have Simon join our board and believe that his extensive public company experience, coupled with his digital marketing and retail expertise, will further enhance the board's skills and growth prospects for the Group.

"I would also like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to Rodney for his exemplary service to InnovaDerma. Over the last six years, he has provided considerable insight, regulatory and corporate governance expertise and wise counsel from the very early beginnings and through the growth of the Group to its current listed status. On behalf of the Board, we wish him the best for the future."

Pyper added: "InnovaDerma is an exciting business and one which has proven to be resilient in very challenging times. I look forward to joining the Board and working with my fellow directors to support its future growth."

The group noted that Pyper, upon his appointment, will also become a member of the Nominations and Remuneration Committees and chair the Audit Committee thereby replacing Turner's membership role in those committees.

In a separate statement, InnovaDerma confirmed that the general meeting on December 16 has been called as a result of a requisition notice from Edale Capital LLP and that, as a result, its annual general meeting scheduled for November 11, 2020, has been adjourned to the same date and time as the general meeting.
