NGM Resources commences second drill program at Tim Mersoi Basin Uranium Assets in Niger

Uranium miner NGM Resources (ASX: NGM) has kicked off the second drilling program on the company’s Tim Mersoï Basin uranium assets in Niger.

In a statement today, the Perth-based company announced local major drilling company, Esafor, has been contracted to drill 4,000m of rotary mud RC holes.

News of the second drilling program boosted shares by 0.5c, or 2.7 per cent, to 19c at 3.2c.

Esafor is familiar with NGM, having worked on its first drilling program in July 2009.

Niamey –based Uranium Logging and Consulting was also used for the company’s first drill program and has been retained to conduct all down hole radiometric, resistivity and geological logging services for the duration of the drilling program.

Ongoing field work and interpretation continues to locate high grade outcropping zones of uranium mineralisation on all permits, particularly around the Takardeit area.

Three of the Takardeit zones, including infill and step out drilling at Takardeit, are to be drilled in the program to test their length, width and depth.

The program also includes drilling on the company’s other two concessions to follow up previous drilling results and interpretative work completed since.

NGM is also flying a high definition aerial magnetics and radiometric survey which is expected to commence by the end of the month.

NGM, a diversified mineral exploration company with a focus on uranium and base metals, has agreements covering uranium exploration projects in Niger, West Africa and metal exploration projects in Madagascar.
