ECR Minerals unveils positive samping assays from SLM project

ECR Minerals (LON:ECR) has released positive sampling results from part of the SLM gold project in Argentina.

Several very high grade assays up to 66.40g/t gold over 0.67metres were obtained from channel sampling within and nearby the trenches at the JV-14 prospect, the firm told investors.

Other highlights from the work by subsidiary Ochre included 27.80g/t gold over 1.20m and 27g/t of the yellow metal over 0.50m.

There are three main prospects - the El Abra, Maestro Agüero and the JV-14 zone and a site visit this month by a senior consultant has led to further recommendations for more mapping and sampling work.

ECR chief executive Stephen Clayson said: "The recent site visit by Neil Motton and Richard (Dick) Watts justifies renewed attention on the El Abra and Maestro Agüero prospects.

"While it had been intended to make a decision as to whether to carry out a drilling programme at the JV-14 prospect on the basis of the trench sampling results, it is now considered appropriate for Ochre to implement the detailed recommendations of Neil Motton prior to considering a drilling programme that might encompass all three prospects. These recommendations are expected to take 2-3 months to implement."

The firm also revealed that Dick Watts is to become a technical director, having previously been non-executive.

"This is in view of the increasing technical workload in connection with both the SLM and Itogon projects as these projects become more advanced," it said.
