Avacta Group (LON:AVCT), which provides technology for bioscience and diagnostics, said sales of its Optim protein analysis product have exceeded market expectations.
The company said 14 such systems had been ordered during the year.
And it already has orders for the new financial year and leads in place, it said, as it announced a trading update for the six months to July 31 this year.
"Management hopes that these partnerships will lead to a growth in sales going forward," said the firm.
Trading over the period had been "in line with expectations", said the company, with underlying revenues having grown and operating losses having reduced significantly.
The Optim product is designed to better predict the stability of pharmaceuticals, which eases time and cost pressures for firms involved.
Avacta said it now had commercial agreements to sell Optim with Pall Corporation in the US,Isogen Life Sciences in mainland Europe, DKSH in Japan, and Cold Spring Biotech in China, Honk Kong and Taiwan.
Elsewhere, at Avacta Animal Health, the firm said issues with its diagnostic system - the AX-1 disposable cartridges - that have delayed roll-out, are now resolved, and it will be supplying the system to customers later this year.
The firm also reported that Ged Holmes had been appointed chief executive officer at its animal health division and Professor Andy Peters had been hired is to act as consultant to the company.
Avacta expects to release its prelims on October 25 this year, along with a further trading update at that time.
