Share plc (LON:SHRE), the listed owner of The Share Centre, provided an update on its progress in the wake of an aborted bid approach from rival Interactive Investor earlier this momnth.
The online stockbroker told investors its commission and fee revenues for the first quarter increased by 2%.
That may look a little anaemic; however, it bucks the trend as Share reckons its peer group posted a 3% decline in the same period.
It also comes against a backdrop of subdued activity in the UK with the London Stock Exchange reporting a 27% fall in share trading in the first three months of the year.
Share’s market share, meanwhile, fell 0.2 percentage points quarter-on-quarter to 3.7%, but is up from 3.54% a year ago.
Interactive binned its early-stage bid approach on May 9.
