Synchronica and América Móvil launch Claro Messenger in Brazil

Synchronica (LON:SYNC, TSX-V:SYN) has completed its latest product roll-out in Latin America, alongside América Móvil.

América Móvil - one of the largest telecoms firms in Latin America - will now roll out a Synchronica-backed instant messaging service on its Claro mobile network in Brazil.

According to Synchronica, the instant messenger service is a ‘churn-inhibitor’ for mobile telecoms operators.

"Across Latin America, sticky value added services (VAS) such as mobile IM (instant messaging) are proving to be successful churn inhibitors and we are certain that this will prove to be the case in Brazil too," Synchronica chief executive Carsten Brinkschulte said.

This is the fourth roll out under a framework deal between the two companies. Ultimately the service will be deployed across all 17 of América Móvil's subsidiaries.

The partners plan to complete a number of these launches over the next four weeks, so they can benefit from the ‘Christmas rush’.

Synchronica highlighted that the framework deal provides a growing recurring revenue stream, in one of the largest mobile markets worldwide.
