Bezant gets go-ahead for platinum and gold sales from Colombia government

Key government permission to sell platinum and gold has been granted

Bezant Resources PLC (LON: BZT) has received its Registro Unico de Comercializadores de Minerales (RUCOM) from the Colombian National Mining Agency in preparation for first commercial production, anticipated in mid-August.

The RUCOM enables Bezant to sell platinum and gold produced from the FKJ-083 licence area in the Choco region of western Colombia.

Bezant is continuing development of its commercial open pit operation at Choco and has now fully commissioned its first processing plant in preparation for commercial production of the upper layers of platinum and gold-bearing gravel.

"The receipt of our RUCOM represents another important step towards the commencement of commercial production in mid-August and the sale of our product over the following weeks,” said chief executive Bernard Olivier.

“I look forward to updating shareholders further in due course as we progress to commercial platinum and gold mining."
