Cocktail maker East Imperial flies on deal with Air New Zealand

East Imperial PLC (LSE:EISB) shares took off on Friday morning as the firm announced a deal to supply cocktails to Air New Zealand (ASX:AIZ).

Peaking at 1.6p – up 21% on Friday’s opening – East Imperial’s shares were lifted on news that the company’s gin-based cocktails would be served on the airline’s New York and Chicago routes from late August.

Chief executive Tony Burt described the deal as a “milestone” for the London-listed company, allowing it to “further introduce East Imperial to a broader and strategically important US audience”.

Air New Zealand (ASX:AIZ) said the deal followed customer feedback backing the sale of cocktails, with the locally produced drinks set to be served to business-class customers.

East Imperial was up 9.4% at 1.45p on Friday morning following the news.
