Plus500, the FTSE 250 fintech group, has agreed to acquire Guru Corretora de Títulos e Valores Mobiliários, a regulated broker-dealer in Brazil, as it accelerates its expansion across Latin America.

The deal gives Plus500 a direct local presence in Brazil, the world's second largest derivatives market and Latin America's biggest economy.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but Plus500 said the acquisition will be funded entirely from existing cash resources, which stood at over $860 million as of 30 June 2026.

The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals.

Guru holds licences from both the Central Bank of Brazil and Brazil's Securities and Exchange Commission, giving Plus500 the regulatory framework to offer Brazilian stocks, futures, options and fixed income securities to local customers.

The deal marks Plus500's second acquisition in the space of a week, following its announcement of the Hedge acquisition in the United States.

Plus500 said it plans to scale Guru using its proprietary trading technology and combine it with its existing business-to-business partnership with Nelogica, a Brazilian trading software provider.

The group said the combination will enable it to offer local customers access to US derivatives markets alongside a broader domestic product range.

Brazil deal follows Plus500's recent entry into the Colombian market, which the company said forms part of a wider regional expansion strategy.

Plus500 said it will continue to pursue additional growth opportunities across Latin America both organically and through further acquisitions.

Chief executive David Zruia said Brazil is one of the world's most attractive trading markets, and that acquiring Guru provides the licence, the experienced local team and the regulatory framework needed to compete effectively.

Zruia described the deal as another clear step in the group's strategy to deepen its offering and reach new markets.
